How to Apply - Apprenticeships and Traineeships

Applying for an Apprenticeship or Traineeship

1. Find an employer

Your first step is to secure a job as an apprentice or trainee.

2. Choose your Training Provider

With your employer, you select William Angliss Institute as your training provider.

3. Register with an Apprenticeship Support Provider

Your employer must register you with an approved Apprentice Connect Australia Provider (ACAP). An ACAP representative will:

  • Organise a Training Contract between you and your employer.
  • Register the contract on the apprenticeship database.
  • Issue you a unique registration number (called an Apprentice Epsilon Number).

You and your employer must nominate William Angliss Institute as your training provider during this step.

4. Hear from us

Once your registration is complete, William Angliss Institute will be notified of your nomination.

Our Student Management Office (SMO) will contact you to start the enrolment process and set up your training schedule.

  1. What to expect next:
  2. Enrolment link sent to you (online form including ID upload).
  3. Pre-Training Review (PTR) prepared using your enrolment details.
  4. ID Verification completed securely through green ID.
  5. Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment completed online (checked via O ARS).
  6. Training Plan/Agreement generated and sent to you and your employer for signing (parent/guardian consent if under 18).
  7. Once all documents are signed, you are officially enrolled and ready to begin training at WAI.

5. Start training

After enrolment and the training plan are finalised, you will commence your training with WAI in partnership with your employer.
