Transition Support for secondary school students with disability to Vocational Education
William Angliss Institute provides Disability Transition Service to support your transition journey from secondary school (including specialist and alternative educations settings) to Vocational Education (TAFE).
Who is eligible for the service?
The Disability Transition Support is free and confidential, funded by TAFE Victoria, and available to secondary school leavers with disability in Years 10 – 12 or up to 12 months after leaving school.
Our Disability Transition Officer assists students with diagnosed disability, medical or mental health conditions.
Providing Personalised Guidance
The Disability Transition Officer offers personalised guidance to you and your family members, explaining the key differences between secondary school and vocational education and assisting you in understanding your rights regarding reasonable adjustments.
Person-Centred and Collaborative Support
We partner with you, your school, your family members, your support networks and TAFE support services to ensure a seamless transition experience for you before, during, and after your application and enrolment at William Angliss Institute, with continued support provided throughout the first 90 days to facilitate successful transition.
Community Outreach & Engagement
We deliver workshops for students and their families to provide information about available services and set clear expectations for vocational or higher education. These workshops are designed to empower students and families to navigate the transition process with confidence.
