Chief Executive Officer

The CEO is responsible for providing the strategic leadership of the Institute by working with the Board of Directors and the Executive Management team to ensure that William Angliss Institute provides high quality innovative education and training from Certificate to Degree level programs that meet the needs of the industry and is attractive to local, national and international students.
The CEO is accountable to the Board of Directors for the effective overall management of the Institute and for conformity with policies agreed upon by the Board. The CEO has full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Institute in accordance with the Institute's strategic plan, current operational plan as well as annual operating and capital expenditure budgets.
The position works co-operatively with Government to implement state and national policies and is responsible for ensuring government agreements and requirements such as planning frameworks are achieved.
A key aspect of the CEO's role is to drive and develop the Institute's industry focus at both a strategic and operational level, ensuring the efficient use of resources in meeting the needs of stakeholders and clients. This includes driving change to support the Institute's effectiveness and accountability.
The CEO works with the Executive team to develop opportunities for innovative and flexible foods, tourism and hospitality industry focused vocational education and training programs locally, nationally and internationally.
Mirerva Holmes
Chief of Staff
The Chief of Staff is a member of the Executive Group within the Office of the CEO and supports the delivery of Angliss's Strategic Plan and organisational priorities.
The position is responsible for strengthening organisational alignment, enhancing the execution of strategic initiatives and improving organisation-wide coordination.
Working closely with the CEO and Executive Group, the Chief of Staff supports effective leadership, facilitates informed decision-making, and helps ensure key priorities are progressed with clarity, accountability and impact.
The role provides strategic advice and leadership across a broad portfolio, including workforce strategy, organisational change, governance, stakeholder engagement and enterprise-wide initiatives. It also supports collaboration across Angliss and with external partners to drive outcomes that align with Angliss's vision and strategic objectives. Industry partnerships, Government relations and the Alumni network sit within the role.
Through a focus on coordination, communication and execution, the Chief of Staff contributes to Angliss's continued growth, innovation and organisational effectiveness.
Wayne Crosbie
Director International and Business Development

The primary focus of the Institute's International and Business Development division is to identify and develop commercial opportunities domestically and internationally and to implement a strategy throughout the Institute of both nationalisation and internationalisation.
Nationally, the Institute establishes relationships and training contracts with key clients within the food service, retail food, hotel, travel, resorts, gaming and other related industry sectors. The Division's delivery of work based training programs, through a range of training and assessment strategies, assists with the development of and support to industry and government initiatives, with training also extended to remote locations within Australia and a special focus on Indigenous programs.
The division's International area is responsible for both the recruitment of overseas students into accredited Institute Higher Education Degree and VET programs, for identifying, developing, implementing and managing new offshore opportunities and projects.
The Institutes' international activities have developed strategic partnerships with joint campuses education providers in China, Malaysia and Thailand, operating a Continuing Education and Training Centre (CET) in Singapore in partnership the Singapore Government Workforce Development Agency, with regional forums such as the ASEAN Secretariat, government organisations such as the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, global hotel chains such as Hilton Worldwide, the InterContinental Hotels Group and a range of education and training organisations.
Adam Cossar
Director Education Operations (Interim)

The Interim Director Education Operations provides strategic and operational leadership across Angliss’s education portfolio, supporting the delivery of high-quality learning, teaching, research and student outcomes aligned with the Institute’s strategic objectives.
The role provides leadership across vocational education, higher education and international education operations, working with education leaders to strengthen educational quality, consistency and continuous improvement across Angliss’s local and international delivery.
Working closely with education leaders, teachers, managers and specialist teams, the Interim Director supports effective educational operations and greater alignment across curriculum, learning and teaching, digital and flexible delivery, workforce capability and the broader learner experience.
The role also plays a key part in advancing Angliss’s strategic and Learning & Teaching priorities, strengthening connections with industry and positioning the education portfolio for future growth, innovation and evolving learner and workforce needs.
Eileen Sargent
Director Corporate (CFO)

The Corporate Division provides financial and business analysis, information technology, marketing and communications, student services, strategy, risk management and governance, property and procurement leadership and services to the Institute.
The Finance Department provides regular financial reporting, forecasts and analysis to the Executive, Board and external parties, as well as managing the cash position of the institute and maintaining the asset register and the Institute's payroll function.
The Property and Procurement Services department maintains Institute buildings on multiple sites and is responsible for managing capital works, building and equipment maintenance, site cleaning and campus security, purchasing and procurement and the commercial activities of the Conference Centre, Café 555 and the Bakeshop
Corporate Governance and Risk maintain policies and procedures to ensure a level of accountability, integrity and transparency regarding the Institute's corporate affairs, including processes to facilitate Freedom of Information, protected disclosures, privacy obligations, insurance coverage and maintenance of the risk management framework.
The Information Technology Services Department manages the Institute's IT infrastructure, business applications' support, IT security and strategy, and provides technical support.
The Corporate Division also provides research, analysis and other data for the Institute's strategic and related planning processes. It prepares and responds to reports for the Executive and the Board as required.
Sarah Lawrie
Director Student Recruitment and Services

Comprising of Marketing, the Student Information Centre, Learning and Information Services and Business Development the Student Recruitment and Services Division is responsible for delivering services that enrich the student experience from commencement through to graduation in both VET and Higher Education.
Marketing manages the Institute's marketing and brand strategies, student recruitment, public relations, advertising, digital marketing, production and design, corporate communications and stakeholder engagement.
The Student Information Centre provides timely, high-quality student customer services including enrolment, fee management and support and course information to both current and future students.
Learning and Information Services provides a comprehensive range of student and information services including the Learning Resource Centre, E-Learning Support, copyright, disability, counselling, learning advisors and student opportunities.
Business Development provides leadership and guidance to the Institute in the development of business opportunities and in-line with the needs of industry including training programs both locally and internationally.
The Student Recruitment and Services Division also provides programs and activities to enhance the student and graduate experience, improve student wellbeing, boost engagement and drive career outcomes.
